Dance Classes for Kids
Dance at Apex is for kids ages 6 and up who love music and movement. Classes cover ballet and hip hop, so dancers can find their own style and express themselves through movement.
Classes meet in the Commons at St. Croix Falls Middle School, 740 Maple Drive, St. Croix Falls.
What a Class Is Like
A dance class mixes technique with plenty of fun. Dancers practise steps and movement, then put them together into dances to music. Coaches keep classes upbeat and encouraging, so every dancer feels at home — whether it is their first class or their fiftieth.
Apex coaches are knowledgeable and passionate across gymnastics, dance, cheer and ninja. Dancers build teamwork, confidence and self-determination — and many enjoy mixing dance with a gymnastics or cheer class too.
Meet the Coach
Dance at Apex is taught by Alyssa Richards. She has been dancing since she was five — Just For Kix, then Varsity Dance, with four trips to the Minnesota state tournament for high kick — and she coached the New Richmond High School dance team.
Ballet and Hip Hop
- Ballet builds grace, balance, posture and control — a strong base for every other style.
- Hip hop is high-energy and full of rhythm, with moves kids love to show off.
- In both, dancers grow in confidence, coordination and teamwork.

How to Start
A first class is free. Book a free class and mention dance, and the office will find the right class for your dancer. Questions are welcome at (715) 539-3333.

Does my child need dance experience?
No. Beginners are welcome, and coaches meet every dancer where they are.
Which style should my child choose?
Ballet suits a child who loves graceful movement; hip hop suits one who loves big beats. The office is happy to help you choose.
