Recreational Gymnastics Classes for Kids
Recreational gymnastics at Apex is for kids ages 6 and up who want to build strength, flexibility and real gymnastics skills in a fun, supportive gym in St. Croix Falls.
Beginners are welcome. So are kids who already have a cartwheel and want to learn what comes next.
What a Class Is Like
Classes are small — just 4 to 6 kids — so each gymnast gets personal attention and plenty of turns. A class moves around the gym’s bars, beam, floor and vault, with new skills to work on at every event. Coaches keep it upbeat: hard work and fun happen at the same time.
What Kids Learn
Apex uses its own skill-based progression. Each gymnast works on the next skill that is right for them, and moves up a level when they are ready — not when the calendar says so.
- Gymnastics skills on bars, beam, floor and vault.
- Strength and flexibility that help in every other sport too.
- Confidence and teamwork — being brave, trying again, and cheering for each other.

Questions Parents Ask
My child has never done gymnastics. Is that okay?
Yes. Many gymnasts start with no experience at all, and the level system meets each child where they are.
How does my child move up a level?
Gymnasts advance at their own pace and move up when they have the skills for the next level.
How can I follow my child’s progress?
The Parent Portal shows every skill your child is working on, with a video of what each skill looks like.
Could my child join the competition team one day?
Yes. No prior experience is required for the team — see Competition Team to learn how an evaluation works.
